Mark Mcwatt was born in Georgetown, Guyana on 29th September, 1947, he studied literature at the universities of Toronto and Leeds, and received a Ph.D in 1975.
Since retirement as Professor Emerita from the University of the West Indies, Barbados, Christine Barrow has participated in creative writing courses and written short stories.
2015 NIFCA Gold Award winner and recipient of the Governor General Award for Excellence in the Literary Arts, a practicing Theatre Artist, Poet and Playwright, Farrell holds a Master in Theatre and Development Studies from the University of Leeds.
In Kei Miller’s anthology, New Caribbean Poetry (2007), Tanya Shirley was selected as one of eight poets in whose hands the future of Caribbean poetry was secure.
